Welcome to STATWAR’s first duo expert interview! Watch Chloe Smith and Hannah Lee, from Zurich Insurance, ask the question ‘Can Data Talk?’ through their presentation. After fun facts about both data scientists, Chloe and Hannah discuss how they use business, location and scenario data to decide who they should insure.

The duo then answer questions posed by viewers, including; ‘What is your favourite part of your job?’, ‘Within your workplace, is there another pathway that you would like to explore in the future?’, ‘Are there any key elements that you would be looking for if you were to judge the STATWARS® competition?’, ‘What are your thoughts on climate change?’ and ‘What 3 things would you change to have a positive impact on climate change?’

STATWARS® is an annual competition that encourages primary and secondary pupils to use data in decision-making and projects. The primary and secondary teaching resources provide a dataset of over 2,000 data points, lesson plans, teaching resources, activity sheets and video tutorials. STATWARS® is set to change the way you teach data science and develop critical thinking skills in a creative context. All teaching materials are provided free to UK based learning institutions.
