Abhisaar is one of the most famous poems written by Kabiguru Shri. Rabindranath Tagore. The poem was based on an ancient, third century story about a Bodhisatva, in the backdrop of Mathura city. The story revolved around the city-bride (courtesan) Basabdutta and a Buddhist monk named Upagupta.
The poem was presented in the form of Dance Drama, using various Rabindra Sangeet of relevant genre, infused in the original poem to give the storyline a musical touch.
The Dance Drama was presented during the Sharodotsav celebration by Deonar Bongiya Parishad, Mumbai on 3rd Oct. 2022
