Join Dave Coleman, Chassis Development Engineer at Mazda, as he details the evolution of the Mazda3 -- a car 35 years in the making.

In 1977, the Mazda3 started as the GLC -- a lightweight, nimble vehicle that was fuel efficient, reliable, and spacious. The GLC went front-wheel drive in the 1980s, and was renamed the Mazda 323. By the late 1990s, the name changed again and the 323 became the Mazda Protegé. In 2003, the Mazda3 name finally appeared. This time, it was a significant departure from its predecessors: bigger, more well-rounded, with nimble handling and enough power to back it up.

From the GLC, right up to the all-new 2014 Mazda3, we've always made Mazda3s with a few core principles in mind: good handling, nimble, well-balanced, and above all -- they're fun to drive.

See your local dealer to test drive the completely re-engineered and redesigned, all-new 2014 Mazda3 today!
