President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Kerala on a four-day official visit. 
On the morning of October 22, 2025, when her helicopter landed at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Pramadam (Pathanamthitta district) for her visit to the temple at Sabarimala, an incident occurred: the wheels of the helicopter sank into a newly-laid concrete helipad surface. 


According to officials, the helipad had been prepared on short notice after the planned landing site at Nilakkal was changed due to adverse weather. Because the concrete had not fully set, the helipad could not fully support the weight of the aircraft, resulting in depressions under the wheels. 
There were no injuries, and the President and her entourage were safe. Emergency personnel and security staff quickly moved the helicopter out of the sunken spot and continued with the schedule. 
The incident has raised questions about the readiness and quality of the helipad infrastructure, especially for high-profile visits. A technical inspection and enquiry appear to be in motion
