Описание к видео Tutorial * flash a kernel or stock ROM with Odin * SGS1 i9000

***READ THIS TEXT FIRST PLEASE***

Any one-file (tar) stock ROM should be flashed by identic procedure like this kernel.

Latest compatible Odin version with the i9000 is 1.83 so one can use also 1.82 or 1.7 or 1.0 but do not use any 3.xx or 4.xx Odin versions with the i9000! (although some people have posted videos with not fully compatible versions here on YouTube).

This short tutorial video (without annoying talking) shows how to flash any kernel via Odin to Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000. KERNEL MUST BE FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR ROM! There is no excuse for choosing a wrong files here, it might brick your device for good.

In this video, as an example I will flash kernel Semaphore 3.1.0 by developer stratosk over ROM CyanogenMod 10.2 (this kernel version is compatible only with Android 4.3 based ROMs) flashing is done by using Odin 1.82 with a Notebook running on Windows XP 32-bit.

Flashing any other kernel on i9000 works just the same way. Unexperienced users keep in mind that flashing a kernel that is uncompatible with your ROM may result in bricking your i9000.

For many other Samsung android devices the workflow looks similar, but one must use other (compatible) Odin versions and compatible kernels, so don't use this video as your only reference!

*****FLASHING IS RISKY AND MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE******
**************************************************************************
Workflow:

1. Three rules: Software Samsung Kies must be dead (kill its background process in Task manager or better: uninstall that crap), Samsung mobile drivers must be properly installed before flashing with Odin, USB debugging must be enabled in your i9000.

2. Run Odin as administrator (0:10")

3. Choose kernel ("tar" file format) under PDA. Options "Reboot" and "reset time" will by default be checked, re-partition UNCHECKED!! (0:22")

3. Run your i9000 in download mode with 3-button-combo (vol.down/power/home pressed at the same time) and connect it via USB cable to your PC (0:30")

4. If "Added!" appears and if ID:COM port number get displayed in Odin after connceting via USB, click on "Start". (0:47)
BUT DON'T CLICK "START" IF "ADDED" AND ID:COM PORT NUMBER DON'T GET DISPLAYED IN ODIN, in that case make sure you've done the first step properly before going on! Disconnect your device from USB cable and keep pressed power button for at least 5 seconds, it will reboot then (don't worry about "Don't turn off target", it doesn't matter if you didn't start flashing)

5. Only few seconds after start of flashing, the kernel will be installed and your i9000 will automatically reboot (1:15"). Don't move the USB cable during the flashing process!
Enjoy your new kernel.
