How Ya Doin' & So Long, Datil!!! 👋

FINALLY made it to Datil, New Mexico! 🥳

This town has been on my map but it never seemed to get any closer over the last 2 months and it is the gateway to my higher elevation trees and out of the flatlands!! 😁

19 to 22 degrees and a slight head wind made for a brisk but beautiful walk this morning! 😎

I had my regular escorts, Johnny and Cordell of the New Mexico State Police, to give me company and conversation for the entire 4 miles! 🧑‍✈️🧑‍✈️🚓

Hardly any traffic way out here but still managed to get a good number of honks and waves! 👋📯

The only critter I saw was the 🦌 on that yellow sign and it ignored me just as well as any of the live critters I have seen as well!?!? 🤣

I'm already back up to 7,300' elevation and the Continental Divide is 20 miles ahead and another 700' higher! 📈
