In the city of Hamilton all dogs are required to be licensed. With many people adopting furbabies during COVID, it’s important to remember to license your dogs to help keep them safe and for their well-being especially in emergencies. Licensing is an inexpensive way to keep your pet safe. It can be purchased and renewed over the phone or online with Visa/debit and MasterCard/debit at hamilton.ca/animalservices. These license tags for attachment on their collar have a few key benefits, including:

The license tag will be readily visible to anyone who may find your dog if they get lost, helping them return home as soon as possible
Allows staff to contact the dog owner in case of emergency so they can make vital decisions regarding the care of their pet
Helps fund Flamborough/Hamilton Animal Services, animals in their care, and helping both domestic pets and wildlife in the community.
One dollar from each license also goes towards maintaining our leash free dog parks, including the one at Joe Sams Park
