Hon. Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Minister for Foreign Affairs, extended a warm welcome to His Majesty the King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck at the TIA in Kathmandu this morning upon His Majesty’s arrival for a private visit to Nepal for pilgrimage to Swayambhunath and Bouddhanath.

Bhutan King arrives in Kathmandu
Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck arrived in Kathmandu on Friday morning, leading a 19-member delegation aboard a Druk Air flight.
He was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Nepal's Foreign Minister, Dr. Arzu Rana.
During his brief visit, the King is scheduled to meet with political and government officials, as well as visit the historic Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa.
King Jigme will return to Bhutan later today.

भुटानी राजा नेपालमा: Bhutan's King His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is in Nepal for a short religious Visit.

Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, who was on a visit to India, has arrived in Kathmandu. On his way back to Bhutan, King Jigme is transiting through Nepal and is currently visiting Swayambhu and Boudhanath Stupa.

According to a police source, he is scheduled to visit Swayambhu today. After visiting Swayambhu, he will head to Boudhanath for further sightseeing. After visiting both places, the King will return to Tribhuvan International Airport to fly back to Bhutan.

Sources have confirmed that the Nepalese government has arranged security and other services for the Bhutanese King. Following his arrival, security measures at the airport were tightened from Wednesday. The police source also stated that there are no official meetings or engagements planned with anyone during the King’s stay in Nepal.
