बिहार में 18वीं विधानसभा के गठन के लिए भारत निर्वाचन आयोग ने मतदान 6 और 11 नवंबर को पहले और दूसरे चरण में संपन्न कराए. अब 14 नवंबर 2025 को सभी 243 सीटों पर मतगणना होगी. राज्य में 38 जिलों के 46 मतगणना केंद्रों पर काउंटिंग सुबह 8 बजे से शुरू होगी. इस चुनाव में भारतीय जनता पार्टी नीत राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन यानी NDA और राष्ट्रीय जनता दल की अगुवाई वाले महागठबंधन के बीच कांटे की टक्कर मानी जा रही है.

मतदान के दौरान दोनों ही चरणों में 65 फीसदी से अधिक मतदान हुआ. इस चुनाव में कुछ ऐसे भी दल थे जिन्होंने पहली बार चुनाव लड़ा. जिसमें प्रशांत किशोर की अगुवाई वाले जन सुराज, तेज प्रताप यादव की अध्यक्षता वाली जन शक्ति जनता दल प्रमुखता से शामिल हैं. बात एनडीए की करें तो उनके साथ जनता दल यूनाइटेड, लोक जनशक्ति पार्टी (रामविलास), राष्ट्रीय लोक मोर्चा और हिन्दुस्तानी आवाम मोर्चा शामिल है. वहीं महागठबंधन में राजद के अलावा भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस, वाम मोर्चा , विकासशील इंसान पार्टी और आईआईपी शामिल है.

एक ओर जहां महागठबंधन ने फ्रेंडली फाइट लड़ते हुए 252 उम्मीदवार उतारे थे तो वहीं एनडीए के सभी दलों में 242 सीटों पर कैंडिडेट्स को मैदान में उतारा था. महागठबंधन ने राजद नेता तेजस्वी यादव को सीएम फेस घोषित किया था. वहीं एनडीए ने कहा कि वह मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार की अगुवाई में गठबंधन चुनाव लड़ रही है.
