In 2016, voters approved Measure S to renovate libraries throughout the County. The measure gave Santa Cruz County the chance to create a world-class library system that goes beyond books to create modern hubs of information and resources that both inform and uplift our residents.

The County of Santa Cruz responded.

We built new libraries in Aptos and Felton, including a new Children’s Nature Discovery Park. We completely renovated libraries in Boulder Creek and La Selva Beach, bringing new life into important neighborhood resources while retaining a sense of familiarity. We are adding a new library annex in Live Oak, joining a community-centered campus that includes Simpkins Family Swim Center and the Boys and Girls Club.
