In the past, Venkatesh Prabhu, popularly known as Dhanush had an opportunity to work with his father-in-law in Kaala. The fans went all crazy with the news and naturally assumed that the two would have had the ball on the set due to the off-screen relationship. But, in a promotional interview of the Film in Hyderabad, while praising his sone in law, Thalaivar revealed that he was initially skeptical to work with Dhanush.
