Ten Years Late -- Fraps from a Geared Vanilla Mage

In late 2005/early 2006, I briefly used fraps while playing on Magtheridon (US) as a backpedaling yet exceptionally geared 60 Mage called Doomhandle. I recently found the footage on an old hard drive and finally got around to making the pvp video that I intended to make long ago.

WoW sure has changed from those early days. Back then, almost nobody knew how to play, me included. On many servers, there were no guilds capable of clearing top raiding content. If you were in a guild that could, you were substantially stronger than other players and could use a lot of your gear in pvp. Not surprisingly, I had a blast being the senior-most mage in the best guild on the server. It was especially crazy considering the recent introduction of good +damage and +crit gear (previously, "mage gear" had intelligence on it, and it basically just gave you more mana) as well as "double trinkets" (two items that forced blizzard to nerf all activated trinkets for years to come).

I also played as Doomhandle on Mal'ganis, since I transferred off Magtheridon before the end of Vanilla.
