Collection of coats of arms at the Archiginnasio di Bologna, University of Bologna

@varoprats_edrodprati presents: Bologna, the incredible court of the ancient Archiginnasio di Bologna (Uiversity of Bologna, the oldest of the world,since 1088). decorated in walls and ceiling with the coats of arms of the professors and students fron the XVI and XVII centuries. Each coat has the name (latinized always) of the persons and his cituy of origin, and up the college, called "nations" where were located, that some times lead to confussion as a citizen of a town in Italy can be in a "Nation" of Central Europe", as an example...Many doctors in law of families of my direct ancestry or families related, from Trento and South Tirol are there represented with their arms,,, I knew it before so I could find them between those thousands of images.... I used one of my ancestors Cilladi (really Endrizzi de Cillá) from the Giudicarie, Trento, Lords of the hamlet of Cillá, high officials of Princes Madruzzo along XVI and XVII c. as thumbnail . Nicolas, graduated in 1606, was in the college of "Angliae" (England) though he was a Tyrolian...
