Following much anticipation and a month-long wait, a Disaster Declaration was made on Tuesday by President Donald Trump to assist flood victims in West Virginia. The President announced $11.7 million dollars in FEMA relief on Truth Social.

It will be made available to Ohio and Marion counties following the June 14th flooding.

Nine people died, dozens of homes were destroyed and many others suffered either severe or minor damage in the historic deluge. Now, Ohio County EMA Director Lou Vargo says anyone impacted will be able to apply for the relief.

"We had over 37 houses destroyed, over 200 severely damaged, and also a couple hundred with minor damage, so all of those people will be eligible for this grant."
