ඇත්තටම පොඩි කාලේ මම මගේ ගමට ගොඩක් කැමති වුණාට අයියා සහ නෑනා මැරුණට පස්සේ මට ඒ ගෙදර ගැන බයක් දැනෙන්න පටන් ගත්තා. අම්මා හැමදාම පුජා කරලා දිවා රෑ එක කාමරයක ඉඳලා මම ගෙදර වහලා හිටියා. මගේ තාත්තා නැති තරම්. ඔහු නිතරම බීමත්ව සිටියේය. ඒ දවස මට තාම හොඳට මතකයි. එතකොට මම ගොඩක් තරුණයි, නමුත් මම මගේ ඇස් දෙකෙන්ම දැකලා තිබුණා සතුටුදායක නිවසක් අපායක් බවට පත් වෙනවා.
