Footage of Ugandan Military ruler Lt. General Idi Amin while on a tour of Lango District (now Lango sub-region), where former President Milton Obote hailed. Amin was on tour for 3 days: from Friday, August 20th to Sunday, August 22nd.

Reuters Text:

"During the tour ... President Amin made several speeches at public gatherings; met Mrs. Obote and her family and the family of a former intelligence chief in the Obote regimes and announced that he was to discuss with Kenya and Tanzania the building of a railway linking north and south Uganda. Railways in the area are the joint responsibility of all three countries, which make up the East Africa Community. In his public speeches, President Amin said Uganda was no longer worried about guerrilla attacks from Tanzania, although he gave no indication of when the border with Tanzania, closed six weeks ago to halt guerrilla infiltration, would be re-opened. He also re-assured the Lango tribesmen that they had nothing to fear from the Uganda Government, and that they could live in peace and security if they co-operated."
