Nicole’s journey began when her mother noticed something unusual—she wasn’t walking straight. Concerned, her mom recorded a video and shared it with Nicole’s father. They both agreed something wasn’t right and decided it was time to get her checked. That checkup led to a diagnosis: scoliosis.

Living with scoliosis brought both pain and discomfort. Nicole couldn't work out like others her age. She had to wear a lift in her shoe, couldn’t run, and often felt helpless. For her father, watching his daughter go through this was incredibly difficult.

Nicole’s condition involved a curve in the lower part of her spine—a type of pelvic deformity. This wasn't just about misalignment. Her pelvis was fusing in an asymmetrical way during growth, which directly impacted her gait, balance, and overall posture. The good news was that although scoliosis can't be cured, improvements in her curvature and pelvic symmetry could enhance her steadiness and balance, as well as her pelvic alignment.

Later, Nicole was also diagnosed with chronic migraines. The search for a solution led them to discover a possible connection between her migraines and the curvature in her neck caused by scoliosis. Because scoliosis affects the spine, it can also affect the nerves that run through it, often causing symptoms throughout the body. For Nicole, the upper cervical spine was the source of her headaches, and correcting this curvature offered a way to reduce her symptoms.

The migraines had gone from occasional to frequent, then to constant. It was an all-day struggle, from the moment she woke up to the moment she went to sleep. This continued for nearly three years, during which time Nicole and her family visited multiple specialists, seeking answers.

Eventually, they found Dr. Tony. Not only did he treat migraines, but he also had personal experience with them. That empathy made a big difference.
