Foe two days we went out exploring some new water from our Bitterroot Valley house. The Big Hole was a real surprise, massive, and I mean MASSIVE Trico clouds! Driving through the Trico cloud was like driving through a rainstorm, could barely see out the windshield with all the smashed dead bugs. Funny though, most of the trout weren't feeding on top during the height of the spinner fall, the bigger trout were feeding underneath. So, sinking the spinner was the ticket. And after the big feed was over, the grayling and some trout began feeding on the surface, the small ant patterns proved to be successful for those opportunistic fish. Where we were fishing, the Big Hole was relatively shallow, only 1ft-3ft deep.
