People over 60 years old should avoid four types of seeds: bitter almonds (containing hydrogen cyanide, which can cause poisoning), moldy seeds (containing aflatoxin, which can harm the liver and kidneys), high-salt processed seeds (increasing the burden on blood pressure), and whole hard-shelled seeds (weak to swallow and prone to choking).
It is recommended to consume four types of seeds in moderation every day: flaxseeds (ground into powder, to supplement Omega-3 and fiber, consult a doctor for those taking anticoagulants), chia seeds (soaked soft, to control blood sugar and promote intestinal peristalsis, and prevent asphyxia), shelled and salted pumpkin seeds (to supplement magnesium and zinc, and enhance heart immunity), and sesame seeds/sesame paste (to supplement calcium, follow a doctor's advice for those with kidney insufficiency).
Note: Grind the seeds to aid absorption. The total daily intake should be 2 to 4 tablespoons. Choose the unadded and sealed type and consume alternately. Those who are taking medication or have chronic diseases should consult a doctor first.
