So you’ve seen Digit Life Insurance pop up on your feed. You’ve seen Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma promoting it. Maybe you’ve even seen a few cheeky ads telling you how “insurance should be simple.” But when it comes to something like Term Insurance—which your family may depend on for the next 30 to 40 years—you can’t go by ads alone.
Digit Life Insurance recently launched its individual Digit Glow Term Plan, and in this video, we take a hard look at whether it’s really worth considering. Because on paper, the Digit Glow Term Plan checks the usual boxes: term cover up to ₹1 crore, terminal illness rider, optional accidental death and disability coverage, and some wellness perks thrown in. But what lies beneath the surface?
For starters, the Digit Glow Term Plan comes from a new life insurance arm under Go Digit, launched only in 2023. While Digit General Insurance has a solid name in motor and health products, its life insurance division is still brand new. That means there’s currently no claim settlement ratio (CSR), no public complaints data, and no credible performance benchmarks in life insurance yet. Compare that to the likes of HDFC Life, ICICI Prudential, Axis Life or Tata AIA—players with decades of underwriting history and ₹10,000+ crore in annual business—and the difference is clear.
Let’s talk features. The Digit Glow Term Plan allows entry from age 18 to 65, with policy terms up to 40 years and coverage from ₹25 lakh to ₹1 crore. You can pay premiums monthly, quarterly, annually, or even for a limited number of years like 5, 10, or 15. The policy pays a lump sum death benefit in case of the policyholder’s demise during the policy term. There’s also an optional accelerated terminal illness rider—but unlike many other insurers, Digit charges extra for this instead of offering it as an inbuilt feature.
Wellness perks like doctor-on-call, mental health consultations, physiotherapy, and home care sound nice—but these are outsourced via third-party providers and usually come with additional charges. In short, they’re not core insurance benefits—more like lifestyle add-ons that don’t move the needle when evaluating a Term Life Insurance product.
Looking at riders, the Digit Glow Term Plan offers accidental death and accidental total and permanent disability coverage. These are decent but fairly standard across the industry. Missing entirely, however, are critical illness riders and waiver-of-premium options—two of the most important features for anyone serious about income protection.

The Digit Glow Term Plan also has some noticeable gaps. There’s no premium break feature like Bajaj’s auto cover continuance. No zero-cost exit like HDFC’s Smart Exit or Bajaj’s Early Exit Value. No claim assistance payout on death intimation (which HDFC and ICICI now offer). And no built-in terminal illness cover or CI add-ons—both of which are becoming standard among other insurers.
So who is the Digit Glow Term Plan really meant for? Possibly younger buyers who want a simple digital experience, are okay with basic life cover, and are willing to experiment with a newer brand. But if you want a long-term Life Insurance plan from a time-tested insurer—with powerful riders, flexible premium breaks, and strong service reliability—Digit Glow still has a long way to go.
As always, it’s not just about premiums. It’s about choosing the best Term Insurance plan that matches your life stage, income, dependents, and future responsibilities. At Ditto, we’ve helped thousands of people avoid the wrong policy and find the one that actually protects their family.
