My name is Hozen. A Singaporean guitar builder who understudied with Ervin Somogyi for voicing. This season made me realize that time is limited, and the future is indeed uncertain. I now see guitar making from a new perspective - to spend my days building only the best guitars, as if they are my own to keep, where my limit is bound only by my imagination.

I sat on my workbench and started conceptualizing every fine detail that I would like to see in my instruments. The guitars you will discover are born from my desire to give my all though there is no tomorrow.

What we are building at Hozen Guitars is very limited in quantity. As I personally hand-voiced every single guitar, there is a physical limit to the number of guitars I can make in my life as a luthier. Individual voicing is critical as each soundboard differs in stiffness and qualities only thru an experienced and qualified hand, the potential will be realized. With keyboards replacing hand tools for the younger generation, it’s challenging to inspire the next generation of craftsmen to pursue this art form of guitar building. Machines seem to be replacing human and guitars done by machines via mass production are affordable and consistent but lacks the character of a human touch. Hozen Guitars provides guitar players with the unique opportunity to own an individually hand-voiced guitar with incredible workmanship and ergonomics features at a reasonable pricing made possible thru Team Building. This advantage will not last forever as Boutique guitars are fast becoming a vanishing art form and with scarcity, prices will only go up….
