Owned by Danny Gatton. Originally with two Alnico V soapbar pickups. Gatton sold the guitar in 1973 to Joseph Kogok, who joined Gatton's band, Danny and Fat Boys, a year later. Gatton wanted this guitar to sound like his '59 Custom with three humbuckers, so he routed the body to take three humbuckers (the neck pickup is slanted because the rout is not deep enough). Gatton made the pickups using magnets from Alembic Hot Rod kits. Gatton took both guitars to the Cellar Door where Les Paul was playing and had Les scratch his name into the back of the headstocks. Kogok played this guitar into the 1980s before selling it to the most recent owner. Comes with a notarized letter from Kogok and a note from Gatton asking the most recent owner about "my old guitar."

We mic'd the amp with a Cascade Fat Head and the room with a MV88 mic by Shure. No eq'ing were done in post, we wanted it to sound like you were sitting in the room hearing this for yourself.
