This set was the driving force behind my order from Slovenia a bit ago. I always like Christmas sets and generally always have high regards for Xtra sets, but I think I may have had too high of expectations for this one. I do like the husky, but I think that may be the high point… and I have plenty of huskies from other sets. The brick built stuff, presents and a big candy cane are flawed. I don’t care for when LEGO makes little Christmas gifts like this in non-Christmas colors, why is the big one dark blue? Also, the big candy cane is not shaped like a candy cane at all, and the parts exist to make it better; we know that because they’ve done that repeatedly in other sets. The minifigure accessories are nice. I don’t have many dk those snowshoes, but if it’s truly Christmas accessories, I’d prefer to get a sant hat rather than just a plain blue hat. I like the fence pieces, but as is always the problem with sets like this, two isn’t really enough to do much with. I always like the tree pieces too, although I would have preferred the bigger version. The single snowflake and single snowy plant are nice, but I’m not sure exactly what we are supposed to do with them. Lastly, the snowman is pretty average, we see so many different snowman in the winter sets and advent calendars, this ken seems pretty run-of-the-mill. In the end I will grade this set a C, there is nothing horrible, but nothing great, and even the positive stuff I find myself saying “it would be be better if…”
