I loved this movie. With a long list of remakes and superhero movies in the theaters this year, Upgrade stands out as something new and fresh in the sci fi genre. Not only is it a fairly tightly woven story, it really delivers some unique action sequences not seen on film before. Think John Carpenter meets John Wick meets Ex Machina... Seriously!

It's a lot of fun to watch and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I literally yelped at one point in the movie. It's shocking at times, funny at others and surprising minute after minute.

Sci Fi and Horror fans will love this movie. Upgrade is one of the best movies to watch in the theater right now.

SPOILERS:
The movie deals with the dangers of A.I. but you don't really realize it until the final twist which I thought was incredible. Like most genre bender movies, Upgrade sets up your expectations and then subverts them really well. Similar to last year's Get Out, Upgrade offers us something new in an otherwise tired genre. It's only June but I expect Upgrade will be one of the best sci fi movies of 2018.
