This year, for Christmas, we went to Siem Reap to hangout for 9 night and see Angkor Wat without the tourists. Siem Reap has been under construction for the past year, so we were a bit worried that it would be a dusty mess, but most of the roads were complete. We spent most our days relaxing and eating delicious local food. Of course, we also visited temples. We got a 3 day pass, which included 2 free days, so we ended up spending 4 days in the temples. Since Covid, Angkor Wat has seen an unbelievable drop in tourism. The temples were practically empty. It was a very unique experience.
