Today, Aug 11 2024, was the last flight for the Hawaii Mars water bomber that was stationed at Sproat Lake on Vancouver Island. It made several sweeps along eastern Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands before heading to its final destination at the BC Aviation Museum in North Saanich. While it did not make a water drop on its last flight it did give us a show of skimming the surface of Trincomali Channel before heading off to meet the Snowbirds that then accompanied it in spectacular fashion on the last leg of its journey.
