...compression... (2025) transforms the rotational data of figure skater Matej Silecky into sound. A recording of a poem by Elee Kraljii Gardiner is mapped so that greater rotational speed slows the playback of the voice. Each turn becomes an act of temporal expansion.

This is layered over a fragment of the jump slowed to 0.00825× speed, inspired by the line: “At the top of the jump, we see detail, sketched to pin.” The same data stream feeds Max, where it continually shifts a stretched vocal excerpt in pitch and timbre
