Bringing in the turf

I'd love to see Arizona
Or the West Australian sands
But my heart belongs to those precious wetlands

No matter where your travelling takes you
Sure the bog will never leave you
Some people look for God above
Down in the bog I found love

I was far away, I was feeling down
I took a trip back to Milltown
Saddled the pony in Dowlings Lane
Headin' for the turfbank, carrying the slean
Cutting it straight and throwing it high
Garry's on the bank, he's spreading it to dry
Cutting it, footing it, clapping it together
Bringing home the turf,
No matter what the weather
