In this video, I’m doing side control techniques when your opponent’s arm is on the high side of your head.

If your arm is under his neck, you can do a head and arm choke. Clasp your hands, drive your knee across your opponent’s midsection to take the mount position. You can squeeze and choke from there, or you can slide your knee through to side control and lay flat to finish the choke from there.

The next one I’m doing on the bjj grappling dummy is also with my arm under his neck. It’s a stockade neck crank.

And the third one is going around his body to the other side, grip his wrist and control. There’s many other submissions and techniques you can do from that position.

The fourth move is to make him feel like his arm is trapped, causing him to want to free it, which sets him up for a kimura arm lock.

If you want to really surprise your opponent with something he’s not expecting, you can reach your arm between his legs and hook his ankle, then underhook his neck with your other arm for both a knee crank leglock and a neck crank.

Finally, another leg lock you can do is reach between his legs, then grip his ankle with your other hand and pull toward you, doing a knee crush over your arm.
