A Neolithic Wonder on the Orkney Islands

Описание к видео A Neolithic Wonder on the Orkney Islands

The Ness of Brodgar on the Orkney Islands is a huge Neolithic site starting over 5000 years ago that reframes our understanding of human geography and history. A short interview with site director Nick Card outlining the key facts about the site and its future. I was there to make an aerial image for my personal artistic project Fabricated Land but, as it is in the works, I wanted to share this here in the meantime. This week the site was covered after 20 years of excavations, with the public viewing, and the same week researchers announced the central Altar Stone at Stonehenge identified as coming from the Orcadian basin geological region in the north of Scotland. This area was not on the fringes was a centre of Neolithic life.
