Ethanol has fewer emissions; but it also has lower BTUs which means less power and fewer miles per gallon.

Ethanol holds moisture, this can cause phase separation, which results in Ethanol and water separating from gasoline and settling in the bottom of the tank.

Moisture in the gas tank causes corrosion and poor cold weather starting.
Phase-separated ethanol will not move through the fuel pump and must be manually removed from the vehicle's fuel tank through a costly evacuation process.

Ethanol contains a mildly acidic molecule, which further accelerates the corrosion process of metal components.

The new BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender Service includes a cleaner: BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender, (PN 213) and a drier: BG Ethanol Fuel System Drier, (PN 281).

This service cleans fuel injectors, intake valves and ports, combustion chamber deposits, as well as corrects balance of fuel and air system,protects the fuel system from corrosion, and stabilizes ethanol-containing gasoline.

For corrosion protection at each fill-up, BG Ethanol Corrosion Preventer, (PN 212) will restrict fuel oxidation, gums, and varnish and protect metal components from corrosion.

Today's engines have a defender against ethanol corrosion with the BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender Service, from BG Products, Incorporated.
