BRANSON, Mo. -- When you do your shopping this year..will it be digital, or brick and mortar?

After looking at a recent survey from Citi-Retail-Services -- 57 percent of consumers say they'll also turn to their computers to shop. We wanted to find out about local shoppers. 

"Digital marketing is something that's going on right now. Tanger ..we compete by being a part of it too," says Jaimie Whiteis, Tanger Outlet Manager.

It's the old, if you can't beat them, join them concept. In addition to the traditional brick and mortar appeal, marketing experts for Tanger Outlet have gone digital with a website upgrade.      

Whiteis says they're ready on and offline.

"We have an app, mobile app..a Tanger mobile app -- that you can get on your mobile phone -- and that gives you all the great deals going on right at this time," said Whiteis.

While shopping on your computer at home or on your smartphone may be convenient..one brick and mortar store owner says there's something she can do, that just can't happen online. Allona Morris owns a ladies store on the Branson strip, called "Beautiful Dresses."

"Shopping online is great. It fulfills a lot of needs. But one thing that they cannot do is fit you properly. Sometimes a woman has a different type of shape...and it's okay. We're all shaped differently. But, you may need someone to tailor a little bit..and tha't what the internet cannot do."

"We've upped our website. It's beautiful-dresses-branson. and We've also introduced a new product or service and we're going to be doing group sales," Morris said.

When it comes to the shoppers preference between digital and brick and mortar?

WHEN IT COMES TO SHOPPERS PREFERENCE BETWEEN DIGITAL AND BRICK AND MORTAR? 

Cathy Eisenhart says, "Because I'm handicapped..I usually do online.

Peggy Cline says she spends all day at work at a computer, so she'd rather not do that while shopping, "I just enjoy it because I get to talk to other people that are shopping." 

Carl Harvey is a shopper visiting from overseas in Ireland, "It would depend on what you're buying. If you want to try something on, you have to go to the store. But if you knew what you're going to get..getting delivered from the internet is pretty easy isn't it." 

73 percent of consumers say they'll use digital shopping this season. 42-percent will use their smartphones and 13-percent are going very high tech with Amazon's "Alexa" doing the leg work for them.
