About Christon Carney
Christon Carney, a native of Nashville, TN, currently calls New England home. He received his Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory and his Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Lipscomb University. He's debuted with Boston Lyric Opera (BLO) as Second Villager in the 2019 production of Pagliacci and has continued to perform with BLO’s chorus. Christon has also debuted with the Nashville Opera during their production of La Traviata as Giuseppe. He has been honored to be a finalist in the Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition, as well as the Harlem Opera Theatre Competition. He has participated in vocal ensembles such as, the Boston Lyric Opera Chorus, the Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra, the Nashville Symphony Chorus and Chamber Chorus, Nashville Opera Chorus, Nashville's Heimermann Chorale and helped to premiere several large works by living composers.
About Kristjon Imperio
Kristjon Imperio is an experienced pianist, teacher, chamber musician and music administrator.
He currently performs extensively as a pianist, organist, and clinician throughout New England. A highly sought after coach and instructor, he has served as chamber ensemble clinician with the QX Summer Chamber Music Institute and festival chorus director at Thayer Performing Arts Center (South Lancaster), piano clinician with the Northern New England Music Clinic in Freeport, Maine for over a decade, and choral clinician with the Atlantic Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Music Clinic in Hartford, Connecticut on multiple occasions.
As soloist, Kristjon has performed piano and harpsichord concerti of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, and Brahms with the Atlantic Union College Symphony Orchestra, New England Youth Ensemble, and Southern Adventist University Symphony Orchestra. Chamber music being one of his greatest passions, he is also a founding member of the New England Piano Trio, Worcester-based Seele Musicale Chamber Ensemble, and Imperio in Stereo, a piano duo he formed alongside his father in 2014.
Kristjon founded Bolton Philharmonic Society, Inc. in 2008 and served as artistic director of the organization’s four community choral and instrumental ensembles until his retirement in 2016. During his eight years with the Philharmonic, he managed and conducted over 30 performances of major works by Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, Chopin, Dvorak, Vierne, Durufle, Vaughan Williams, Hindemith, Barber, and Rutter.
He has also held the position of program director for Thayer Performing Arts Center, managing the organization’s after-school music program and introducing a visual art curriculum to the program’s community offerings; and previously served as collaborative pianist for Anna Maria College Dept. of Music.
Kristjon currently serves as minister of music for the First Congregational Church of West Boylston. In addition to serving as program director for Pakachoag Music School, he serves as the school accompanist and maintains an active piano studio. (Borrowed from Pakachoag Music School’s website)
