We often hear that India is so big, but when we plan a holiday, our options are usually limited to a few regions. We decided to go beyond the usual routes and discovered an ancient town we had never heard of: Orchha! Join our family on our first trip to this beautiful and historic destination.

Our stay was at Hotel Bundelkhand Riverside, which was once the hunting lodge and guesthouse of Orchha's royal family. This heritage hotel blends rich history with modern luxury and is perfectly situated on the banks of the serene Betwa River. It also overlooks the Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary, offering breathtaking views right from the resort.

Then, we explored the incredible Orchha Fort Complex. Its majestic Bundela architecture and ancient murals transport you back in time. We went inside the beautiful Raja Mahal and Jehangir Mahal, and the view from the balcony was unforgettable—the river, the forest, and the ancient ruins all in one frame.
