MS Excel: Let's learn how to use COUNTA, COUNT, COUNTBLANK, COUNTIF Functions.

COUNT: The COUNT function counts the number of cells that contain numbers, and counts numbers within the list of arguments.
Use the COUNT function to get the number of entries in a number field that is in a range or array of numbers.

Syntax: COUNT(value1, [value2], ...)
The COUNT function syntax has the following arguments:
value1 Required. The first item, cell reference, or range within which you want to count numbers.
value2, ... Optional. Up to 255 additional items, cell references, or ranges within which you want to count numbers.

The COUNTA function counts the number of cells that are not empty in a range.

Syntax: COUNTA(value1, [value2], ...)

The COUNTA function syntax has the following arguments:

value1 (Required). The first argument representing the values that you want to count.
value2, ... (Optional). Additional arguments representing the values that you want to count, up to a maximum of 255 arguments.

COUNTBLANK function, one of the Statistical functions, to count the number of empty cells in a range of cells.

Syntax: COUNTBLANK(range)
The COUNTBLANK function syntax has the following arguments:
Range (Required). The range from which you want to count the blank cells.

COUNTIF, one of the statistical functions, to count the number of cells that meet a criterion; for example, to count the number of times a particular city appears in a customer list.

In its simplest form, COUNTIF says:
=COUNTIF(Where do you want to look?, What do you want to look for?)
