Ford Fiesta ST Line X Review

The new Ford Fiesta ST is the sporty Fiesta that everyone is waiting for, but in the meantime, could the ST Line X do enough to fill the void? What we have here is a Fiesta that has a sporty bodykit, 17" alloys, a roof spoiler and a chrome exhaust pipe.

It comes with a choice with either the 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol or the 1.5 litre diesel. The EcoBoost is able to offer three power outputs; 99bhp, 123bhp and 138bhp. Luckily, I have the 138bhp lurking underneath the bonnet, which is joined by 180Nm of torque with power fed to the front wheels via a snappy 6-speed manual.

It's able to hit 62mph in 9.0 seconds, which doesn't feel desperately fast, but it feels faster in reality. The top speed is a rather respectable 125 mph although ST lovers may be left wanting more.

However, the ST Line X proves you don't need loads of power to have fun.
