Описание к видео Scarborough Harbour - Things to See and Do At East Yorkshire Coastal Seaside Destination

A walk around Scarborough's picturesque, fishing harbour. The harbour is rich with history dating back to the 1800's. Scarborough harbour had a significant role in defending great Britain during world war 2 and the history is prevalent all around the harbour. Still a working port, both charter fishing boats and commercial trawlers leave the harbour on a daily basis. There's a significant presence of RNLI in Scarborough too making it a safe place for families to enjoy all it has to offer. The Royal Lifeboat Institue offer boat rides from the harbour around the bay and a shop for keepsakes, we detail both locations in the video. Scarborough castle walls are visible in the video and the 3000 year history presides over the town. With a mixture of modern day attractions, an abundance if history, and beauty at every juncture, there is something to meet all tastes. We captured some video of families enjoying some crab fishing. There's so many access points to choose from, you're sure to catch a bite. There's a lot of choice for restaurants, bars and cafes too at the harbour. My favourite has to be the Regal Lady for the countless lives she saved at Dunkirk. The Scarborough Fairground Attractions at the harbour work on a token based payment schemes. There's some public toilets next door too. As a young lad, I recall coming to see the filleting houses in action after the fish market. Alas, the fish market seems to have changed considerably over the years. However, Scarborough still doesn't fail to provide a lovely holiday or day trip for all. There's limited parking around the harbour but it's generally not too difficult to find a space. There's a lovely little spot in front of Ask Italian that has a row of benche, the perfect spot for fish and chips. The Harbour Bar was the first work for my Dad, serving the delicious ice creams. He was there in the 60's but they have been I'm business since 1945. It's a corner stone of any visit to Scarborough. The light house has been through the mill. Originally built in 1803 it has to be one of Scarborough's must sees. There's some lovely footage of the Diving Lady (A sculpture of a diving lady in the 1900's). No harbour video would be complete without some footage of the 1914 vickers pattern 13 pdr gun on Vickers peir. Although this WW1 gun now stands proudly on the end of Vincent Pier in Scarborough, it spent many years underwater before being retrieved from the wreck it belonged to.
