In this stunning 3D animation customer reel video, we show you some of our work for industry-leading technology company DJI, which was created for the launch of their Mavic 2 Drone. Here we demonstrate the different features of the technology product with photorealistic close-ups, exploded views, beautiful cinematography, VFX compositing, concept development and full production of feature film quality CG environments and robots.

From the manufacturer’s CAD data provided, we created an exact replica, which was rigged allowing our animators' complete control, right down to the rotation of the blades. The flexibility this provided allowed us to have an asset that could be manipulated easily and accurately over a range of shots.

This really helped when illustrating the differences between the two editions by showcasing both aircraft in action side-by-side, and for complex sequences where the Mavic 2 flew in extreme environments and conditions. We created over 30 shots and sequences, each requiring different approaches, with some either full CG sequences of the Mavic 2 flying through sci-fi-themed environments, and others needed to show the Mavic 2 CG assets composited into filmed footage.

The product introduction alone received more than 9 million views on YouTube, nearly doubling the exposure of Mavic Air, DJI's previous iteration in the product line.
