On September 18, 2018 New York's Queen Sofía Spanish Institute signed a partnership with the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía which grants the studies of the brilliant violist and violinist, Luosha Fang. The American musician has won the first prize of the prestigious Tokyo International Contest. Taking advantage of the encounter, both the Chairman of the Board, Fernando Aleu, and the Institute, David Askren, could greet Paloma O´Shea, Founder and Chairman of the school, before Her Majesty Queen Sofía, Honorary President of both institutions.

This collaboration, which starts now, between the Institute and the School is aimed at boosting the interest within the US in the Spanish culture and vice versa and to encourage the development of young talented musicians. The scholarship the Queen Sofia Institute is providing with, shows the Institute´s willingness to support the activities of the Escuela Superior Reina Sofía and to reinforce the bond among the two institutions.
The Reina Sofía School of Music was established in 1991 with the double objective of supporting the development of greatly talented young musicians and bringing music closer to society.
