ZIG RIG Fishing for Carp - Underwater Footage

This film we go underwater and see how carp react to my first attempt at zig fishing. On a whim I decided to try zig fishing based on the amount of carp topping in the margins. Pulling together components from my rucksack I managed to tie up a zig and placed it in a weedy section of the margin in approximately 5-6 fow.

Absolutely fascinating results, I could not have been happier seeing Canadian Carp actually interacting with a bait that was not presented on the bottom. We all get caught in that trap of only fishing the bottom when carp spend far more time in the other layers of the water feeding on suspended and emerging insects.
