A brief description of my field of condensed matter physics. Our most famous things are probably superconductors and nanotechnology but we do all sort of cool stuff. I worked on quantum wells (which are vaguely a sort of nanotechnology) and making them so small that the quantum mechanics properties can be studied at higher temperatures (you can see me explain my thesis presentation here    • "Excitons in Transition Metal Dichalc...  ).
