Guangdong foreign trade hit the record in the first quarter. The scale of the province's foreign trade exceeded 2 trillion Yuan for the first time in the history of the same period, accounting for 20.1 percent of the nation's total.

In the first quarter, Guangdong's foreign trade reached 2.04 trillion Yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent. Of this total, the export volume reached 1.31 trillion Yuan, up by 9 percent, and the import volume reached 731.14 billion Yuan, up by 17.6 percent.

ASEAN continued to be Guangdong’s largest trading partner. The province's import and export to ASEAN reached 324.42 billion Yuan, up by 5.3 percent. Its foreign trade to BRI partner countries also increased by 8.5 percent.

Clearly Guangdong’s foreign trade maintained the momentum of stabilization since the end of last year. The 135th Canton Fair also echoed. The first phase of the 135th canton fair closed with fruitful results. Foreign buyers from more than 200 countries and regions came to Guangzhou to look for new opportunities.

The first phase of the exhibition, themed "Advanced Manufacturing", showcasing new quality productive forces. Over 3000 high-quality characteristic enterprises with titles such as national-level high-tech enterprises, champions in manufacturing industry categories, and specialized and innovative "Little Giants" have participated, representing a 33 percent increase compared to the previous session. The fair also presents more than 450,000 green and low-carbon products and over 250,000 products with independent intellectual property rights.

The 135th Canton Fair will last for two more weeks. The second phase will take place from April 23rd to 27th, and the third phase will take place from May1st to 5th.
