The Looe Valley Line Story - Part 4

Описание к видео The Looe Valley Line Story - Part 4

In this final episode of our four-part mini series, Geoff Marshall of All The Stations explores how the 1901 engineering feat of connecting the Looe branch to the main line at Liskeard proved to be a game-changer.

The resulting rapid growth in passenger numbers put Looe on the map and it entered popular culture thanks to Bernard Moore's evocative poem, Travelling (circa 1919), as read by Geoff.

Then via a visit to Looe's memorial to engineer Joseph Thomas, Geoff finally makes it to the beach for a spot of drawing in the sand. He then re-unites with Vicki at Looe station for a wrap-up of the series.
