Fava Dip made with Yellow Split Pea

Ingredients:


1 cup of yellow split peas
1 medium red onion diced
2 garlic cloves chopped
3 tbsp olive oil ( plus extra during and after blending)
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp pepper
2 bay leaves
3 cups vegetable broth ( add more if needed)
1 lemon juiced

Cook the yellow split pea until it's tender. It also depends on which brand of split pea you're using. If you use the Greek split pea which you can find on Amazon then it Cooks quicker. But any split he will do for this recipe.
After sauteing the onions and the garlic with the seasoning and the cooking of the lentils you add your lemon juice and then add it to your blender and smooth out the dip to the consistency you would like it. And pair it with crackers,pita bread,Stacy chips or bread. Enjoy
