Harry Potter and the franchise of evolution. A critique and retrospective, from book to film, of what was, for 10 or so years, the king of blockbusters.
The rudimentary foundations of Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets, the transcendent creativity of Prisoner of Azkaban, the troublesome mystery of Goblet of Fire, the streamlined safety of Order of the Phoenix, the controversially atmospheric style of Half-Blood Prince, and the contrived spectacle of Deathly Hallows; what can the variety in these adaptations teach us of how and how not to bring a series to the silver screen?

This video is a compiled re-edit of 6 individual videos, now instead featuring copyright-safe music to ensure the narration remains preserved. In losing the original project file, (SSD died and I had no other backup, silly me) I had to make do with externally separating the vocals from the original music. As such, there are brief moments the original music is still audible or muffles the vocals, though overall I feel it turned out well enough to be worth uploading, should any of the individual videos get taken down or some narration removed by muted sections or anyone prefers to consume the retrospective in one long video. You may even find its alternate audio mixing, in which the music remains more suitably quiet compared to my varied vocals, to provide a superior listening experience.
