Ford 8" Traction Lock Differential Install - Aftermarket Unit

Описание к видео Ford 8" Traction Lock Differential Install - Aftermarket Unit

I install a new "aftermarket" Traction Lock differential into a Ford 8" rear center section. The open differential had to go as we don't want any more one wheel peel.

There are a few things to note if you are planning this upgrade yourself as it was not a direct drop-in like I expected it to be. There are three main differences between this aftermarket unit and using an original Ford traction lock differential.

You will need new 9" carrier bearings for the differential.
You will need to clearance the pinion support area as this diff is a bit larger than the factory one.
And I forgot to mention; you will need longer ring gear bolts as the originals are too short for proper engagement due to the thicker mounting flange for the ring gear.

At the end of the day it's not too difficult, but you may need some special tools to make it happen. At least you will know the process.
