How to turn off (and KEEP off) the automatic wipers in a Tesla Model 3

The automatic wipers in the Model 3 are terrible. You can turn them off, but every time you turn on the cruise control, the car switches back to auto. I got fed up with the constant distraction of turning them off and set out to find a way to turn them off and KEEP them off!

One way is to remove and replace the wiper motor after installing a custom wiring harness. The other way is to use Enhance Auto's Commander.
