Who lives in a house like THIS? The Homes made from Iron and 1960s High Street | Prefab Homes.

In this weeks video I visit the 20th Century Iron Council Homes now in situ at The Black Country Museum in Dudley, United Kingdom. Only 4 of these homes were ever built out of cast iron panels, and they are a wonderful example of architectural ideals in the early 20th Century. The houses were built in 1925 and were lived in until their demolishment in 1987 when the local authority deemed them no longer fit for habitation. The houses were saved by the museum in the 1980s and were built panel by panel.

The of the houses have been beautifully restored to reflect two time periods.

The first house is set in the 1940s
The second house is set in the 1960s

Both houses are evocative and beautifully curated. My favourite is the home set in the 1960s - would love to hear your thoughts.
