Jerry was riding his motorcycle through the city streets under a persistent drizzle. The light rain, though not torrential, was enough to drench him, adding a layer of misery to his ride. Each droplet that hit his face shield was a reminder of the discomfort that came with being wet and cold. Despite this, Jerry pressed on, the steady hum of his bike offering at least some sense of comfort against the elements.
As he approached an intersection, Jerry began to slow down, squeezing the brake lever with practiced caution. But in that moment, his front wheel skidded suddenly, transforming his controlled deceleration into a heart-stopping battle for balance. The bike wobbled, threatening to throw Jerry onto the slick pavement.
In what felt like an eternity condensed into a second, the front wheel miraculously regained traction. Jerry's pulse raced as he managed to keep the bike upright, narrowly averting a fall. Breathing heavily from the adrenaline and relief, he pulled over to collect himself and looked back to understand what had caused the near disaster.
There, painted on the road, was a white arrow, now a slippery hazard under the veil of rain. In his focus to reach his destination, Jerry had overlooked how rain could transform the mundane markings into treacherous obstacles.
Paying close attention to painted arrows and lines on the road is very important, especially during rain. These painted surfaces can become extremely slippery, significantly increasing the risk of losing traction when braking, accelerating, or turning. It's advisable to avoid these lines whenever possible. However, if unavoidable, ensure to cross them with a constant speed and straight trajectory. Minimize leaning, and avoid sudden movements like acceleration or braking to maintain control. This careful approach helps prevent the motorcycle from slipping, enhancing safety during wet conditions and preserving the rider's well-being.

On Moto Control channel you will find videos about motorcycles, motorcycle riding techniques, tips & tricks and online motorcycle training for beginner and advanced riders!
A little info about me. My name is Andrei Bodrov, originally I'm from Moscow, Russia, and now I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Back in Moscow I was a motorcycle instructor and creator of Moto Control Beginner & Advanced motorcycle rider courses, which quickly became the most popular courses in Moscow (well, at least the advanced one😁). My advanced training course makes emphasis on slow speed riding techniques at first (such as good clutch and throttle control, proper riding posture, proper use of vision, etc.), then proceeds to more advanced techniques (such as aggressive braking, trail braking, maximal lean angle). The course incorporates a lot of exercises from DOSAF slow speed riding (similar to police rodeo like motorcycle training in USA), braking and cornering exercises and motogymkhana style riding. And now, since I actively learn English - I decided to post some useful videos for both your and mine practice!😉
