This project was crammed into the two days before con but absolutely worth the result! The hat is made of 4mm EVA foam, painted with gesso and reinforced with worbla on the center inside. The straw look was achieved by unrolling raffa ribbon and gluing it on in layered strips. Sadly I didn't have any large enough fabric pieces left over, so in true scrap god fashion I used the scraps from his robe for the flowy pieces in the back and added a 'sewn' line of ribbon for extra detail.
